Mah digital stuffz

Not sure how this place is supposed to operate, so I am basically sorta going along and rolling with what seems to work.

So anyway, I am a digital artist, and here are a few of my latest things:

Loving that T.Rex, Dino, I wish I could draw!

Made some minor progress on the Rex render, although finished off the Dromaeosaurus pic. Got some minor tweaks to go and then off to DA with it.

I'd be interested to know just how you got the skin on the head and feet to turn out that way. I love the white speckles on the wing and tail feathers.

What I did was first, I used a whole bunch of small dots that were a slightly darker shade of the skin. Well, that was my original idea to do the scale texture, but what I decided to do instead was blur that layer and, in black, draw in the scale detail myself. I am a traditional artist as well as digital, so that technique is something I do alot of in real life. To aid the effect, the shading and highlights were all dots, lines, etc (again, another traditional technique applied digitally).

Thanks. Probably a little blurry because of both the brushes and the fact thats full-sized. It seems to have ended up being one of those things that looks a little messy up close but looks real good when shrunken down or viewed from a littler farther away.

When I zoom out, it looks good.

What program do you used for da digital stuffz?

He said CS4 or CS5 somewhere....
