Personally, I wouldn't call them "hardly amateur" but they are pretty good for the most part. I would go in with some slightly heaver dodging and burning and in some places a bit of white brushing though (like some of the armour on the first pic, or the sword in the fourth pic) to work in a little more realistic contrast and make some things look shinier. You might also want to consider some of the lighting on some of them to make it more natural (more burning on the second last one, shading on the cape of the fourth one, orange brushing on the last one for the fire glow). Just some suggestions. Quite good overall. The fifth one is IMO the best of them and my favourite.

I had several more, ones that I actually spent much more time on, but the drive they were on crashed and I had never bothered sticking them on photobucket ( I was almost distraught when I came to the conclusion they were gone forever) I think I'll start doing more of these so that I can keep up the practice.

Well, I took your advice and added some highlights and shadows, and then added some bump maps to the cloth and leather surfaces. Oh, and I don't know what an LP is...

Well, I'm looking for something that would make me want to keep practicing, so if you’ve got some larger pieces that are sketched that could use a coat of digital paint, post them here, otherwise I’ll probably do one of the following.
